Agartala: Jun 13. Agartala Public School, English Medium in association with Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) initiated massive plantation drive in the months of June and July.
In view to the World Environment Day and ensuing Vanamohatsav celebration, Agartala Public School authority along with local people of Baldakhal, Chandrapur area has started planting saplings in nearby areas of the school.
More than 100 saplings will be planted in these two months while near about 100 saplings will be distributed among the local people of Baldakhal and Chandrapur areas.
The Agartala Public School secretary Arun Nath claimed “Each and every person should plant a sapling for their children’s better future. Agartala once had many big trees, but now many were chopped off. Plantation of trees must be carried out by all”.
Locally called mehagani, bokul, batt, tetul, neem, boira, jalpoi, jaam, etc saplings were available for plantation and distribution.
