Agartala: Apr 10: The Tripura Autonomous District Council polls were swept by TIPRA( The Indigenous Progressive Regional Allience), won 18 seats out of 28. BJP-IPFT won 9 seats and the other seat going to an independent candidate.
After winning the ADC poll Chairman of TIPRA Pradyut Kishore Deb Barman said that one win would not be enough. He appeal to the people to hold back from attacking the party office and houses of the supporters of IPFT, BJP, CPIM and Congress. they want unity so they have to maintain peace. Pradyut also said that after election many more come to join TIPRA. The party would organise a rally on April 12 to celebrate the victory.
The council consists of 30 seats, 28 are elected and two nominated by the Governor.
