Agartala: Apr 02: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center completes first pancreatic cancer complex operation in the state succesfully. Physicians performed this surgery for 9 hours.
A couple of months ago, a woman(56), living below the poverty line in Sonamura Luber was diagnosed with MRI pancreatic cancer at GB Hospital. Doctors at the cancer hospital recently decided to operate her.
Accordingly, the patient was anesthetized on the morning of March 31.
Onco surgeons Dr. Ashish Gupta and Dr. Pritesh Rajbi Singh started the revolutionary surgery of the pancreas at 11:30 am. These two surgeons efficiently performed this difficult operation which lasted for about 9 hours till 8.30 pm.
As a result of special initiative of the state government, these two specialist surgeons from other state have joined the state cancer hospital. Dr. Ashish Gupta is from Delhi and Dr. Pritesh Rajbi Singh is from Mumbai.
The patient was transferred to the ICU last night and her physical condition is currently stable. The operaton assisted by staff nurse Priyanka Nath, Subrata Saha, Manali Debbarma, Siraj Debbarma and Sangita Das. Anesthesia was performed by Dr. Mrinal Debbarma .
