Patients came from Assam- Manipur for better treatment

Agartala: Apr 08: The reputation of the medical services of the state is spreading in different parts of the country. After West Bengal, patients are rushing from Assam- Manipur  to Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Center in Agartala for treatment.

Patient from Assam begins chemotherapy today. Jaharlal Das(55), a resident of New Bangaigaon, Assam, contracted a throat infection from the tonsils.Two months ago, cancer was first detected in New Bangaigaon and later in Guwahati. He then decided to come Tripura for better treatment. Dr. Partha Sarathi Sutradhar observed him.

Professor PK Maiti, Medical Suoarintendent Dr. Goutam Majumder,  Dr. Partha Sarathi Sutradhar, Dr. Biswajit Debbarma and Dr. Dipshikha Das formed a medical board, the board take decision about his treatment. Chemotherapy for the disease has started today.

The 73-year-old man from Manipur had colon problems. He came to the state for better treatment. His endoscopy showed colon cancer. Doctors at the ABV Regional Cancer Hospital decided to operate him  a week ago.

The surgery started at 11 am on April 7. Onco surgeons Dr. Ashish Gupta and Dr. Prithes Rajib Singh performed the surgery. The surgery lasted for about 6 hours. The anesthetist was Dr. Mrinal Devvarma. The patient’s physical condition is currently stable.
