Agartala: Mar 24: A procession was organized in the city on Wednesday at the initiative of Tripura State BJP Legal Cell to greet the government on several issues including the decision to implement Advocate Welfare Fund Act 2021 and take decision to set up a law university in state.
The procession marched through various parts of the city, the lawyers present at the procession had a long standing demand for enactment of the Advocate Welfare Fund Act.
Manik Sarkar, the former Chief Minister and the current Leader of the Opposition, has been repeatedly demanded, but the Advocate Welfare Fund has not been implemented.
But now it has been implemented, the lawyers said that they will get a lot of benefits in the field of medicine including pension and loan.
Besides, if a law university is established in the state, students will no longer have to go out of state to pursue a PhD degree.
The procession was attended by Bar Council Vice-Chairman Kakali De, Pradyut Kumar Dhar and others including Bidyut Sutradhar.
