Agarrtala: Mar 31: Over 600 houses were damaged after a nor’wester struck various parts of Tripura on Since Monday late night.Khowai and Dhalai was the worst affected district in the state officials from State Disaster management said.
The officials said that since March 29 till 31st a total 452 houses were partly, 118 severely and 39 houses fully damaged in Khowai and Dhalai district.They have said that so far no camps have been set up for the affected families.The officials from the state disaster management said that so far around Rs 51 thousands were distributed among the victims in Khowai sub-division under Khowai district.
The MeT officials has issued a warning and informed that thunderstorms with lighting accompanied with gusty wind speed reaching 30-40 km per hour is very likely to occur at isolated places over all district of Tripura.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in his facebook wrote, “The state government is on the side of affected people for the devastating natural calamities and cyclones in different parts of the state including Khowai and Kamalpur. The administration is taking necessary steps for their cooperation”.
