Agartala: Apr 06: The founding day of the Bharatiya Janata Party was celebrated with due dignity in the state as well as in the whole country. The main event of the day was held at the BJP headquarters in Krishnanagar. BJP state president Dr Manik Saha paid homage to the founders of the party by hoisting the party flag here. Other state leaders of the BJP were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, state BJP state president Dr Manik Saha said that the BJP was formed in 1980 under the leadership of the late former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee. At that time, Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay worked hard to establish the BJP.
Although the party was formed in 1951 under the name Jana Sangh, the Janata Sangh split due to the dual membership of the RSS and Janata Dal at that time. From then on, the Janata Sangha continued to campaign separately for the restoration of democracy in India.
Meanwhile, this day is celebrated with dignity in the entire state including the capital. A transparent India program was implemented on the initiative of the BJP Mandal Committee of 8 Bardowali Assembly constituency by organizing a colorful program on the occasion of BJP’s Founding Day on Tuesday morning. In today’s program, the local leaders of BJP started cleaning various roads in the area. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the party workers and supporters for this day’s program.
