Agartala: Mar 26: To provide increase 33% allowance to Asha workers , Asha staff allowance to be Rs 21 thousand, to settle all their arrears immediately and to settle all honorium of work on Covid-19 pendamic. Workers came to the CMO office with the initiative of the West District Committee of Tripura Asha worker Union with multiple demands.
Panchali Bhattacharya, who was present at the protest, told reporters that there were 7,765 Asha workers in the state.
Although various works were done with them, the concerned department has stopped paying various sectors.
But now the department is doing all that work with Asha staff.
Despite the regular demands of the staff, the officials have no positive role in the department. The workers have been deprived of such assistance from the government for many months.
The office chief did not meet with the staff delegation at the office last Thursday. Panchali Bhattacharya said that the decision was taken on Friday after the behaviour of such officers.
She added that the workers are ready to agitate for their demands. If Asha workers does not get the demands, the decision of the movement will be taken in the coming days.
